At Professional Audio Designs, Inc, we use EASE computer modeling and analysis as a powerful tool to aid us in our designs. EASE is the industry standard acoustic analysis software package with a library of all the major professional grade loudspeakers integrated into it.
First we create a computer model of the room. Then we place a "virtual loudspeaker" in our "virtual room". The computer simulates the way the sound will behave in the actual room.
The real benefit of this approach is that it allows us to “audition” several speakers for a particular acoustic space and choose the best one. We can also get an idea of what a particular room will sound like before it is built and take measures to alleviate potential problems.
We use our computer models to look into other things besides sound. We can investigate projection screen angles of view, the effects of lighting on the projection screen, see how a speaker will look in a space before it is hung, and map microphone coverage patterns on a boardroom conference table.
The experience among our engineers is the key to maximizing the benefits of this tool for our clients. Because we know what to look for, we can investigate potential problems and explore possible solutions.
