Distance Learning with Pius XI & WIA

Just as the internet has opened up endless avenues for education and connecting people with one another, videoconferencing has made distance learning classrooms possible — environments where students can learn from and communicate with instructors and peers from all across the globe.

Students from Pius XI High School and Wisconsin International Academy are taking an exciting adventure into distance learning this semester, holding their first Cloud Classroom program and cultural exchange.

Students pose for a group photo after the inaugural session of Cloud Classroom.

Hosted at Professional Audio Designs’ new headquarters, students and instructors meet one night each week to video conference with Tsinghua Experimental School in Shenzen, China. Students learn about each other’s culture and cover unique characteristics of their cultures every week. This semester’s Cloud Classroom lessons include a fashion show, a cooking class, and what it’s like to be a Chinese citizen living in the United States.
